Special Note:  Samsung DLP TVs using this lamp may have a set problem that caused the initial lamp to fail. Capacitors in the main power supply may have gone off value causing a capacitor on the lamp ballast board to fail. In that condition the lamp may receive too high of AC voltage which can cause it to run hotter than normal, leading to early lamp failure.

Arc tube connector wires that become oxidized (white) is the most common way to check for overheating as the cause of lamp failure.

Also, check the TV for proper fan operation and be sure the air intake vents are clean of dust/dirt. These can also cause lamp overheating.

This may affect warranty status on your lamp.
